Seriously thrilled to be interviewed for The Origin Story Podcast. In some amazing (and intimidating!) company. I’ve always considered myself a better communicator with my hands (art, poetry, etc) than with my mouth — so wish me luck! And listen. And tell your friends to listen.
Excited to work with Donna and Judy! When they had their Roswell location, I would always go to slobber over their walls… They will be showing some of my work in their East Cobb location, but also look for events coming up around town. I’ll post more as I know more…
Please join me for wine and nibbles at my home studio and gallery! We moved in in APRIL and I just now feel like I could actually have my art-lovers over. You can walk right in the front door or come around back to get in through the studio. 20% off everything on display in the gallery space. Plenty of gift-sized pieces and a few big ones to spruce up your home for the holidays. mmmmwwah!
If you are south of Atlanta, visit the new Highland Galerie in Columbus, GA. It’s an amazing spot in the mill district, in a building of artist studios and design offices. Beyond being a wonderful space filled with beautiful things, its mission (on top of helping artists) is to donate sales proceeds to the immediate community. As a Columbus native, I LOVE this. Stop by if you can! I’ll post more of April events when I know more. highlandgalerie.com
Buckhead Art & Company is hosting a special group collaboration featuring myself (duh) Emily Pope Harris, and the fine art mirrors of Melissa Payne Baker and Stacy Milburn. It is a gorgeous space (high ceilings, big windows, lots of blank walls to fill) and in the heart of Buckhead. I’m contributing a collection of smaller encaustics (great for gifts or groupings) and some larger works. Come enjoy Abstract Reflections!
Excited to bring my mixed media curriculum to Columbus' Leigh and Paige Gallery! Looking forward to sharing the joy of (almost) all the materials I love. Last time I taught this kind of class, I was very, very impressed with the works created in the time we shared. Really great stuff. Hope you'll join me!
Please join me for the grand opening of the Leigh and Paige midtown gallery! It's a gorgeous little nugget of cool right behind Wynnton school (my old stomping grounds.) It has a eclectic selection of folk and contemporary art in a historic setting. Looking forward to the fun of seeing you all. LeighandPaige.com
I'm teaching a Saturday class on mixed media abstracts. Full of fun and mess, you will walk out of the process sporting a 20x20 canvas of awesome, armed with all sorts of knowledge about color, texture, and what makes an abstract "good." Call the gallery to reserve your spot: 404-400-7535
I bought a tent! Going to try an arts festival. And what would be better than to start off my my hometown: Columbus, GA? Don't know if you've ever been there, but the city has done a marvelous job of revitalizing the downtown, beginning with building the a river park on the Chattahoochee and moving the music and arts school (and all the resulting coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and cute stores) to Broadway. Every time I visit I'm more impressed. Anyway... the tents will be set up in the center of all that. Hope to see you there! http://calendarcolumbusga.com/events/arts_on_the_river
So honored to be a new artist for Spotlight! Looks like they will show my "whimsical" pieces and maybe some landscapes. Two evening events: Monday is opening night and Friday is a closing event called "Canvas and Cocktails." Excited to be a part! Click here for show info. ***Edit: This was such a great event. They truly do an amazing job (all volunteers!) at putting this huge and profitable show together. It's a pleasure to see all the art that had been selected and they had a lovely pinot.. Hope I get to go back!
Two pieces in the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance show through April. Opening is 2/27. Gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays.
